The Pun Group, LLP is seeking an experienced Advisory Services Associate to join the Southern California office of our fast-growing well-established regional firm.

Role

You will be involved with all aspects of the advisory practice and the day-to-day activities of various engagements. You will apply learned procedures to perform sub-recipient monitoring engagements, revenue audits, and various other engagements within the advisory practice. You may assist the Advisory Services team for on-site client work, as needed.

Compensation

Annual compensation is $70,500 to $85,000 depending on experience with bonus opportunities, fee assistance for CPA exam, and a robust benefit package.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, public administration, political science or related degree.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • CPA certification or be eligible to sit for the CPA Exam, preferred.
  • Highly Desirable:
    • Previous state or local government experience
    • Previous federal grant compliance (2 CFR 200 etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Learn relevant rules and regulations for engagements (Code of Federal Regulations, Municipal Codes etc.).
  • Participate and provide input in planning meetings to determine engagement risks and develop testing plans.
  • Accurately document engagement procedures performed.
  • Learn to effectively communicate with clients to receive information necessary to complete engagements.
  • Continually advance technical knowledge and working knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations (2 CFR 200), GAAP, GAAS and other relevant professional standards.
  • Participate in Continuing Education (CPE) skills training and leadership development course work.
